AUGMENTED REALITY TECHNOLOGY IN A JAPANESE THEME PARK
New augmented reality app by Dalby Forest brings The Gruffalo, popular character from children’s books, to life. The trail of The Gruffalo Spotter opened last month.
Augmented reality game was designed for use in 26 kinds of wood across England. You’ll get some clues to follow that’ll help you to find your favorite characters from The Gruffalo, children’s bestseller by Julia Donaldson. The Gruffalo Spotter is packed with a great number of facts about forest animals. When you finally spotted the character, you can bring the 3D animation to take a photo with. Photos are added to the gallery automatically. Users can share them on social media using hashtag #GruffaloSpotters. The Gruffalo Spotter is a free game with in-app purchases designed by Nexus Studios. It’s available on Amazon, App Store, and Google Play. Becky Mayo, Dalby Forest center manager, finds amazing that children can find The Gruffalo characters in their natural setting. Bringing two worlds, nature, and technology, together was a big piece of work, but it was worth it.
The team of Nexus appeared to be huge fans of The Gruffalo, so we can only imagine how excited they were to work on an augmented reality game that’ll bring characters to life in the woods of England.
